A social gathering in Duchesne County took a turn for the worst on Friday when multiple
people were assaulted with pool balls used as weapons. According to the Affidavit of
Probable Cause, officers responded to a call in Fruitland on April 5th that a woman was
“going crazy, throwing pool table balls and hitting her husband.” Two of the people
present gave witness statements that Yolanda Del Carmen Miles became angry and
focused her assault on her husband but also hit the other two people present. The officer
stated that the call was “due to Yolanda throwing objects capable of causing serious
bodily injury at the victim… as well as assaulting both the other parties in the home.”
48-year-old Yolanda Del Carmen Miles was arrested and booked into the Duchesne
County Jail. She has been charged with 2 counts of 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated
Assault and misdemeanor Intoxication.
