It’s hard to believe Christmas is over and a local business will soon start the careful process of taking apart their epic Christmas village. For the last three years, Sha-Mar Pets in Roosevelt has transformed the store front displays into a massive Christmas village made up of hundreds and hundreds of intricate pieces. Maria and Shaune Underwood use to set the display up in their home but decided to share their collection with the public so others could enjoy it as well. “We have a lot of people that will stand at the window to watch it,” shares Shaune. “We go through about 250 to 300 batteries every year but it is fun. We love Christmas and we love the true meaning of Christmas so this is one way we can share with others what Christmas truly is and means to us.” Maria and Shaune sold the pet store to their son Wayne but they all agree this is a tradition worth continuing. They usually try to start setting up the display in October in order to have it turned on by Thanksgiving but were delayed a bit this year due to some health problems. Still, they made sure to get it done and many locals are glad they did. Thank you Underwood family for spreading joy this year during the holidays!
