Santa only has so much time each December but thanks to tradition he makes it every year to read his favorite Christmas book to children at the Uintah County Library. Starting early in the month, local families are able to get tickets to one of several scheduled times for Santa story time. “We’ve had Santa for probably the past three years,” shares Library Director Sam Passey. “It is great to see the excitement and wonder on children’s faces as they imagine the Polar Express, Santa’s favorite book.” Santa’s visit isn’t the only way the Uintah County Library is spreading holiday cheer. They continue to collect food-for-fines to stock the shelves of the local pantry. Food-For-Fines has been going on for around 20 years, shares Passey, as a great way for people to help feed those in need and manage their library accounts.
