Uintah Basin families will be hitting the road with the kickoff of vacation season this Memorial Day weekend. AAA projects that 39.3 million Americans will take a trip this Memorial Day weekend, which is one million more travelers than last year. In fact, it is the highest travel volume since 2005. “The expected spike in travel mirrors the positive growth seen throughout the travel industry this year,” shares Bill Sutherland, AAA senior vice president. “Higher confidence has led to more consumer spending and many Americans are choosing to allocate their extra money on travel this Memorial Day.”
