Comic conventions or Comic Cons, as they are more commonly referred to, have a growing following around the nation and the Roosevelt Library is hosting their own mini version next month to let locals get their own taste of the experience. The Fandom Event will be held on September 15th at the Grace Event Center in Roosevelt. Librarian Stephen Moon has attended his share of Comic Cons and is excited to provide this opportunity for locals who don’t realize there are other Basin residents with the same interests as them. Moon says he also enjoys showing people that there are books and library resources that go along with the shows that they enjoy. The Fandom Event will have merchant booths as well as free games, quests, quizzes, and prizes. Donations for the event have come from DC Entertainment, Wizard World Conventions, and New York Comic Con making it an even more authentic experience. The event runs from 1 to 4pm on Saturday, September 15th. For more information, contact the Roosevelt Branch Library.
