The Roosevelt City Library pulled off another successful Fandom event on Saturday providing locals with an unforgettable cosplay experience. Dressing up as a favorite superhero or sci-fi star is a growing hobby for fans of all ages and over 140 people showed up for the event at the Grace Event Center. While many showed up in their most legit costumes, many also attended in everyday wear to enjoy the quests, crafts, and cosmic games including the Star Wars shooting gallery and the quidditch toss game. “We added a quest this year to get people to interact with each other,” shares Library Director Stephen Moon, who dressed as

for the event. “Folks were challenged to compliment each other on their cosplay or sing their favorite theme song. It really helped people be more social with each other.” Another successful aspect of the party was the library booth that brought library books and movies that card holders could check out. “We checked out more items than any previous event,” shares Moon. “The purpose of our events is to introduce people to concepts they may have an interest in and then show them we have additional resources for their enjoyment.” This was the second annual of what is sure to be many years of Fandom events in Roosevelt.
