A report from the National Park Service shows that tourism to Dinosaur National Monument creates major economic benefits for the surrounding area. According to the report, the Monument had 315,589 visitors in 2017 that spent $18,479,400 dollars in communities near the park. That spending, the report says, supported 231 jobs in the local area for a cumulative benefit to the economy of $20,400,200 dollars. “Dinosaur National Monument welcomes visitors from across the country and around the world,” shares Superintendent Mark Foust. “We are delighted to share the story of this place and the experiences it provides. We also feature the monument as a way to introduce our visitors to this part of the country and all that it offers.”  The cumulative benefit to the U.S. economy from national parks was $35.8 billion dollars.
