Many millions of Americans tuned in to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Like many others, Representative Rob Bishop offered his response to the speech, specifically on rebuilding the military and modernizing infrastructure. “The civilian and military workforce at Utah’s Hill Air Force Base should be encouraged to know their Commander in Chief has just re-emphasized the crucial role they play in America’s military readiness,” shared Bishop. “The President is pursuing a policy of peace through strength. Utah is providing that strength.” Bishop also emphasized his approval that Trump stated the need to modernize the federal permitting requirements and the streamlining of the NEPA process to get infrastructure projects off the ground quickly and in a less costly manner. Finally, Representative Bishop noted that he looks forward to working with Trump’s administration on the initiatives outlined to develop natural resources and grow the American economy.
