Pursuit of Book Cliffs Highway Suspended For Now

by | Dec 30, 2020 | News | 0 comments

On Friday, December 18th the board of the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition decided in a unanimous vote of 6 to 0 to suspend the pursuit of a highway through the Book Cliffs. This project, also known as the Eastern Utah Regional Connection Project, would connect Uintah County to Interstate 70. In suspending the project it was indicated that there is a chance that Grand County may be interested in rejoining the coalition. At the same meeting, the board approved a 2021 budget that would permit the $3 million dollars that was going towards a roadway study to be used to rehabilitate Seep Ridge Road in Uintah County. Utah Legislature will have to approve the repurposing of funds.
