June is the time for wrapping up the budget and preparing to start the new year for agencies that follow the fiscal rather than the calendar year. For this reason, Vernal City Council is preparing to consider final actions regarding the 2026 Budget, Vernal City Compensation Schedule for Fiscal Year 2027, and the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget that will start July 1. “Community input is an important part of the public hearing process,” shares this week’s announcement. A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at 6:00pm in the City Council Chambers. Residents who would like their comments included in the public record but are unable to attend, may submit written comments by noon on June 17 to recorder@vernal.gov.
