Police Confirm Identity of Vernal 3-Year-Old Allegedly Smothered by Stepmother

Vernal City Police held a press conference on Sunday concerning the March death of a Vernal 3-year-old and the related arrest of the child’s stepmother Mckenley Yadon (also known as Mckenley Stout) made last week. Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell confirmed the identity of the 3-year-old Vernal girl as Arianna Rose Stout, who would have turned 4 on May 19th. He also explained that on March 14th, the day Arianna died, the Division of Child and Family Services were called in and the other child and any other children that would have been in the home were placed in a safe environment. Child and Family Services remained involved in the case with the Uintah Basin Child Abuse Task Force throughout the course of the investigation. 24-year-old Vernal resident Mckenley Yadon was arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail on Thursday, May 23rd, for First Degree Felony Aggravated Murder and Second Degree Felony Child Abuse.
