KNEU 1250An arrest has been made in the June shooting death of a Rock Springs woman. 45-year-old Jason Lee Fletcher was arrested on Friday for the shooting death of his wife 46-year-old Lena Lynn Fletcher at their Rock Springs home on June 29th.
Sunday’s COVID-19 Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com reports that local cases have continued to tick up. There are 148 active cases as of Sunday; 91 of those are in Uintah County, 46 are in Duchesne County, and 11 are within the Ute Indian Tribe.
Dinosaur National Monument has made some changes to their schedule and availability and it's none too soon with snow already here. “Fall is here and so are some changes to our operations!” shared the Monument’s announcement.

Round 2 of the Small Business Economic Recovery Grant opens today for registered businesses in Uintah County that have experienced COVID-19 hardship. “Small businesses are critical to the success of our Basin’s economy,” shares the release from Uintah County, Vernal City, Naples City, and Ballard City.
TriCounty Health Department has shared concern over the increase in COVID-19 cases and Wednesday’s numbers added a big jump compared to what has been average growth. On October 21st, TriCounty Health Department added 21 cases to the overall COVID-19 positive cases which is a significant jump.
In a recent news release, Dinosaur National Monument announced that they have moved more then 6000 paleontological, archaeological, historical, and biological specimens. Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum received the items through the efforts of fourteen monument staff members, three Geoscientists, five volunteers, and four Utah State employees in this interagency project in July.
The stamp of approval has been given by a Utah legislative committee to draft a bill that seeks to streamline the federal process for changing geographic names in Utah that contain language derogatory to American Indians. Currently there is not a template or an outline of clear instructions that allows changes to geographic features.
