KNEU 1250Uintah County has an update on the much anticipated PhenomeCon, Utah’s First Annual Paranormal Conference that will be held September 9th through the 11th in Vernal: For over a century the Uintah Basin has been making headlines with paranormal sightings and activity including skinwalkers, cattle mutilations, UFO’s, Big Foot, and everything in between.
Uintah Basin Healthcare continues to urge the community to get the COVID-19 vaccination stating that the choice not to get vaccinated for COVID is the choice to get COVID. “We are seeing an alarming spike in cases,” shares Dr. Greg Staker, Chief Medical Officer for Uintah Basin Healthcare.

Now that guidelines have been received by state and local health officials, Duchesne County School District provided an update on their COVID-19 protocols. COVID-19 vaccination is not required and face masks are not mandatory. COVID testing will not be required in most circumstances, including extracurricular activities.
TriCounty Health Department provided the update to the COVID-19 Transmission Index on Thursday. As of August 5th, Duchesne County and Uintah County remain at the High Transmission Index Level and Daggett County remains at the Low Level.

The Uintah County Office of Emergency Management has a message for those whose homes were damaged by flooding over the weekend. The announcement shares that they are conducting a preliminary damage assessment (PDA) of homes in Uintah County for the State of Utah that experienced flooding within the living quarters.

Dinosaur National Monument has announced that due to significant damage from a recent thunderstorm, the Yampa Bench Road in Dinosaur National Monument is closed from the monument’s east boundary to the junction with the Echo Park Road until further notice. A thunderstorm passed over the Yampa Bench Road area early on Tuesday, August 3rd.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department verified in a press release this week the presence of two aquatic invasive species in Flaming Gorge Reservoir – curly pondweed and New Zealand mudsnails. This is the first time New Zealand mudsnails have been documented above the Flaming Gorge dam.
