Roosevelt Aquatic Center Meeting Community Needs

After a successful first summer, the Roosevelt Aquatic Center remains a staple for local family fun in the Roosevelt community. According to Aquatic Center Director Edwin Butterfield, summer numbers were high and this fall attendance has naturally slowed down but is still great for during the school year.

Domestic Violence Conference Provides Training for Local Professionals

October is national Domestic Violence Awareness Month which makes it a natural time of year for the annual Domestic Violence conference for professionals throughout the Basin. This year’s annual conference was held on Friday at the Uintah Conference Center where hundreds of professionals including law enforcement officers, DCFS, mental health professionals and more, gathered for a day of training that took a personal turn.

“Boots, Buckles & Bling” Winners

Photographers gathered Thursday at the Uintah Heritage Museum for the announcing of the winners of the 2016 annual photo shootout as part of the 20th Annual Outlaw Trail Festival of the Arts. Twenty-six photographers of all skill levels entered seventy-six photos and their work is now on display at the Heritage Museum.

EIS Funding Secured for Seep Ridge Road

Funding has come together for the next step in the possible Seep Ridge Road extension south to I-70. Last week, the Community Impact Board approved funds to the 6 County Infrastructure Coalition that will cover half the cost to perform the study for the Environmental Impact Statement on the project.

One local woman is changing lives one radio ad at a time. Sheree Meyer’s journey to graduation from USU-Uintah Basin included not only her Family, Consumer & Human Development coursework but a crash course in radio as a tool to strengthen marriages and families in Basin communities.
