Zoning Amendment Granted

A zoning amendment was approved during Monday’s Uintah County Commission meeting. Triple J Services requested a rezone at 3689 East Highway 40 from an A-1 Agricultural zone to an I-1 Industrial zone.

Billsie Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charge

The mother of the girl raped by 4 men last spring changed her plea to guilty to a lesser child abuse charge last week in 8th District Court. 32-year-old Natasha Alissa Billsie pleaded guilty to Class A Misdemeanor Child Abuse and was given credit for 87 days served in the Uintah County Jail.

Charges Filed in Beaver Creek Fire

Officials have confirmed that charges have been filed in connection to the Beaver Creek Fire that has been burning in Western Colorado since June. The fire has burned around 60 square miles on the Wyoming/Colorado border.

Successful Opening Weekend for Deer Hunt

The opening weekend of the rifle deer hunt was a success with more than 56,000 hunters and their families and friends heading into Utah’s backcountry. Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers were set up at check stations throughout the state, checking licenses and taking a close look at the deer harvested.
