Candidates for Uintah School Board presented at the Vernal Area Chamber luncheon

. For District 2, Kevin Dickson and Sharon E. Bills each took some time to introduce themselves and answer questions. Both have extensive experience in the Uintah School District, Dickson as an educator and administrator and Bills as a classified employee in transportation. When asked what the most important issue is facing the District, Dickson spoke about the budget and the importance of properly managing resources while making sure that the kids are the top priority. Bills spoke about handling bullying and providing safe schools with a healthy learning environment. When asked what ideas each had on how to put students first, Bills emphasized the need for quality teachers that are passionate about their job. Dickson mentioned busing as a challenge and emphasized the need for synergy to work as a team on every level. He paid the community and school district a great compliment, stating that our “schools are a reflection on the community and we raise great kids.”
