It’s one thing to hear about the new Union High School, it’s something else to go and take a peak first hand. Simply put, the building and surrounding facilities is impressive. The $81 million dollar new school is on schedule and within budget, shares the building Superintendent. Currently, the plan is to have the keys turned over by late July. In case you haven’t heard of some of the school’s special features: it has an auditorium that seats 1,600 people. The school has extra classrooms and space for future growth. The building is equipped with low maintenance flooring and hardware and fun fact, the turf on the new football field is the same turf used on the Washington Redskins new field. The sports facilities include two gyms that are split by a breezeway so that spectators can watch and enjoy two games at once. Based on the growing excitement at the school, the new Union High will live up to its hype.
