The Duchesne County Justice Court Judge vacancy has been filled. Attorney Jed E. Labrum of Vernal will fill the vacancy left by now retired Justice Court Judge Clair Poulson. The Duchesne County Commission shared in a press release that a selection committee chose three candidates for the judgeship for the Commissioners to interview and analyze beginning in October 2021, including Labrum, interim Judge Randy Birch and Jeff Chugg. The commissioners chose Labrum based on his experience in law and expertise in court proceedings. Commissioner Greg Miles said Duchesne County welcomes Judge Labrum and is looking forward to a long tenure on the bench. “He is a tremendous attorney,” says Miles. “We think he will be a great fit for Duchesne County in this capacity. It is our hope that Judge Labrum enjoys working in Duchesne County and retains this position for many years to come.” Labrum was sworn in and officially took the bench on January 28th.
