The Utah Wildlife Board is looking for new board members. “We need at least one person from northeastern Utah,” says Staci Coons, board coordinator for the Division of Wildlife Resources. “The other spots can be filled by anyone in the state.” Only two members from a region can serve at the same time on the board. Members of the board serve for one six-year term and have the final say about hunting, fishing, and how wildlife is managed. Also members will need to attend six to seven wildlife board meetings in Salt Lake City each year. “They’re also encouraged to attend Wildlife Regional Advisory Council meetings in their regions,” Coons says. “Some overnight travel is also required.” Applications can be submitted
starting February 1
and goes
until March 15.
Once submitted, the Utah Wildlife Board Nominating Committee will review the applicants and make recommendations to the Governor to make final decisions. To apply or for more information, visit
