Naples City has announced their fireworks restrictions for the holiday weekend. Fireworks are only allowed on residents’ own private property in Naples City and only within Naples City’s designated areas. Fireworks are NOT allowed on city owned property, parks or school property, county property, unincorporated county areas, or in vacant lots/fields/othernon-manicured properties.  “Due to increased fire danger and drought conditions, all aerial fireworks are banned within Naples City limits,” shares the announcement. “Ground fireworks are also prohibited within 200 feet of high-risk areas identified on the wildland urban interface map. Anyone who starts a fire or causes damage as a result of fireworks may be held financially responsible. We ask everyone to use caution, respect the restrictions, and help protect our homes, neighborhoods, public lands, and first responders.” Mayor Brock Arnold shared that Naples City is still planning to hold their annual fireworks show on July 24th, having fire trucks on site to immediately respond to any fires. He also encouraged Naples residents to be good neighbors and recognize the danger being faced this season while understanding that there are differing views and opinions on the matter. “We encourage you to respectfully share your opinion but urge civility and understanding,” shares Mayor Arnold. “We are all facing hardship and uncertainty and the use, or not, of fireworks does not need to be another item to create division among us. Let us come together to celebrate 250 years of freedom and community and find new ways to unite in the face of the drought and other uncertainties we face as a community and country.”
