Moffat County: Where the West Runs Wild

by | Mar 22, 2017 | News | 0 comments

After a few tough years in the coal and mining industry, Moffat County is upping their game to diversify the economy and invite new revenue through tourism. Branding Moffat County as a tourist hot spot has been in the works since 2010 and a new website is among the results. Visitmoffatcounty.com brands the county as the place “Where the West Runs Wild.” Of course, Dinosaur National Monument is highlighted as a scenic destination in addition to the nearly two million acres of public lands and free-flowing rivers. The website highlights Moffat County towns, events, and scenic treasures with the hope of increasing tourism. Not everyone has been behind the branding and new website, however, and the local Chamber has been working with the many viewpoints and ideas from the community members.
