USU Uintah Basin is changing lives for the better by showing that continued education truly is for everyone. An amazing example of this is Dannielle Zipf who ended up in the Basin after her husband took a job locally as a high school math teacher. Dannielle had started her degree at Wichita State University but took a break after she got married and moved to Utah. Once in the Basin, Dannielle desired to finish her degree and was thrilled to learn of the early childhood education bachelor’s degree offered at USU Uintah Basin. Even more exciting was when she learned that the program offered flexibility for her as a mom to a 6-month-old son. “The teaching program at USU-UB lined up perfectly with what I wanted to get out of my education,” says Dannielle. “I didn’t just want to learn the best teaching methods and theories through lectures, I wanted hands-on experience so I could put what I learned to work. Once I graduate, there are plenty of opportunities for me to work here without moving.” Dannielle’s experience is not unique and all are invited to learn more. USU-Uintah Basin is hosting an Education Open House on April 5th in Vernal and April 6th in Roosevelt. Visit
