The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office shared on Thursday evening that there is a confirmed first positive COVID-19 case in Moffat County. “This emphasizes the critical nature of the ‘Stay at Home’ order issued by Governor Polis,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “We are reminding residents that the individual precautions they can take to limit their exposure are the same precautions that can help slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community. These precautions will also help protect people in our community who may be at greatest risk for complications if they get infected.” The Colorado Public Health Order emphasizes limiting mass gatherings to no more than 10 people and includes specific rules for citizens and businesses to follow. The Colorado Order also states that failure to comply would subject the violator to penalties including a possible fine of up to $1,000 dollars and imprisonment for up to one year.
