Mirror Lake In Uinta Mountains On World Atlas List

A lake in the Uinta Mountains is featured on a recent list of the ‘Highest Lakes in America’. The ranking by World Atlas says that all 10 of the lakes featured are above 10,000 feet and are spread between Hawaii, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. Mirror Lake is the only Utah lake on the list. “One of Utah's easiest high-elevation lake stops waits beside the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains,” shares the announcement. “USGS-derived mapping places Mirror Lake near 10,082 feet, while Utah recreation sources commonly round its elevation to about 10,050 feet. Bald Mountain rises nearby to 11,943 feet, creating a bold mountain backdrop without requiring a long approach.” Check out the complete list at www.worldatlas.com.
