The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office had a busy few days last week. On Thursday, October 12th, a federal fugitive wanted for meth distribution was arrested in Rock Springs. 43-year-old Corby Earl Albert was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for parole violations having been originally convicted of distributing meth in 2006. He served almost a decade in prison before being released and then last month was wanted again for meth charges. A Wyoming Narcotics Task Force tracked Albert to a residence in Rock Springs where he was arrested without incident on Thursday. The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office was put to work on the war against meth again on Friday after a traffic stop resulted in a major drug seizure on I-80. A deputy stopped a speeding vehicle and a quantity of a controlled substance was observed in plain view. A search of the vehicle “resulted in the discovery and seizure of about two pounds of methamphetamine.” The Sheriff’s Office did not release any details about the driver.
