Local libraries in the Uintah Basin have a message for their patrons. Uintah County Library Director Sam Passey shared that on Monday morning, the “Duchesne and Uintah County Libraries were made aware of an equipment failure by the company that hosts [their] shared library catalog. This failure led to the loss of transactions at the libraries in Duchesne, Roosevelt, and Vernal that occurred on Saturday, March 26th. If you visited one of the libraries on Saturday and have questions about your accounts please contact your library.” This did not affect Hoopla, Libby, or Overdrive transactions. The Duchesne County Library System also issued an announcement about Saturday, sharing that they are working to remedy what they can on their end. “If you placed holds on that day, you will need to place them again,” shares the announcement. “We understand the frustrations this is causing. This is the first time we’ve had such a system failure like this in the 7 years we’ve had our current catalog.” If you returned items, checked out items, or updated your account information on March 26th, please contact your library.
