A celebration is being held as part of the opening of a new campground in Uintah County at a popular recreation site. The BLM announcement invites all to “join the Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office, for the grand opening of McCoy Flats Campground, celebrating America's 250th anniversary and the Department of the Interior's Freedom 250 commitment to expanding outdoor recreation on public lands. Located next to the renowned McCoy Flats Mountain Bike Trail System, the new campground meets fast-growing recreation demand in the Vernal area and reflects our shared dedication to stewardship, access, and America's outdoor heritage.” The celebration will be held at the new campground on September 3rd at 11am with activities following the ribbon cutting.
