Man Being Held On No Bail For Alleged Child Rape And Kidnapping

A man is being held on no bail in the Uintah County Jail following a child rape investigation. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Officers responded to an incident where a female child, between the ages of 12 and 14 years of age, disclosed that she had been raped by an adult male in Vernal City and Uintah County. The adult male was later identified as Kaden Potter. Two days after meeting, Kaden and the child allegedly engaged in sexual relations in his Dodge Ram in the parking lot of a local business within Vernal City. “Kaden formed trust with the child and had the child watch pornographic videos…The child disclosed one night where she woke up tied and unable to leave. The child begged for Kaden to untie her. Kaden refused…While the child was being restrained Kaden had sexual intercourse with her several times despite her pleading for him to stop…The child described Kaden using her as a sex toy multiple times a day and whenever he wanted. When they could not be together Kaden would demand the child send him sexually explicit videos and images via social media or text messages. Several of these images were recovered confirming they are child sexual abuse material. On August 20, 2026 a phone interview was conducted with Kaden. He informed [the Officer] that the child had told him she was 18 years old. It is documented via another Vernal City Police report that Kaden was advised by law enforcement of the victim's age in April of 2026. On August 27, 2026 a search warrant was served on a camper belonging to Kaden in Uintah County. This camper was identified by the child as where some of the sexual encounters took place…Evidence was collected that corroborated the child's disclosure in the forensic interview.” 19-year-old Kaden Lavar Potter was arrested during a traffic stop on September 24th. He was booked on three counts of Rape of a child, four counts Object Rape of a Child, two counts Sodomy of a Child, one count Aggravated Kidnapping, three counts of Enticing a minor to engage in Sexual Activity, and three counts Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Kaden Potter is also under investigation in Heber City for sexual misconduct and drugging a female.
