Magnesium Chloride Treatment Planned for Red Cloud Loop Road in Dry Fork

by | Jun 25, 2021 | News | 0 comments

Officials have announced that on Tuesday, June 29th, Uintah County and Ashley National Forest will work together to begin treating the Red Cloud Loop Road in the Dry Fork and Brownie Canyon Area. The treatment will begin at the Forest boundary and end at the turn off to Massey Meadow. Magnesium Chloride will reduce dust and harden the surface of the road improving the road surface. For the treatment to be most effective it is asked that the public avoid this section of road on Tuesday and Wednesday June 29th and 30th to allow the magnesium chloride to settle into the road surface and cure. Magnesium chloride can be very sticky making removal from vehicles difficult if it is traveled on while wet.
