Local Search and Rescue Volunteers Participate in Two-Day Training Event

Local search and rescue volunteers attended a two-day training event in southern Utah over the weekend.  The 2018 Search and Rescue State Training Conference was held at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane and included first responders from Utah and Arizona. The amazing thing about the group is that it was largely made up of volunteers who do not get paid for their search and rescue expertise and efforts. Uintah County Sheriff Vance Norton says he was excited to learn that local search and rescue team members were able to attend the training. “Our citizens should be very thankful to all the members of our Search and Rescue team,” shares Sheriff Norton. “They donate their time and money to be part of an organization where they risk their lives time and time again to help those in need and ask nothing in return. They are a group of our local heroes without a doubt.”
