It’s the last week to submit project ideas within the Ashley National Forest for the Northern Utah Resource Advisory Committee. “The Northern Utah RAC encourages individuals, non-profit organizations, local governments, and others to propose projects that enhance, improve, and restore areas within the National Forest,” shares the announcement. “The proposed projects need not be implemented on Forest Service lands but must be adjacent to and benefit National Forest resources. Project funding is made available under the reauthorized Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. Title II projects fund work such as restoring watersheds, removing invasive weeds, enhancing recreation sites, maintaining roads and trails, or otherwise improving the condition of the Forests.” Information regarding the program and application forms are available on the Ashley National Forest website www.fs.usda.gov/ashley. Applications are due by August 9th.
