Interview: Senator Mike Lee Discusses American Affordability And Jobs Act, More

Listen

Mike Lee, United States Senator for Utah, joined Evans Family Media for an interview on important topics, especially focused on the American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026. The Act aims to address federal permitting reform and already has strong bipartisan support. Senator Lee said that Democrats and Republicans alike acknowledge the needs and demands for more electric power and infrastructure and regardless of the nature of the project, this bill aims to help all have greater certainty and a greater sense of fairness when there is a need for a federal permit on a project. He says for too long it has been an ambiguous open ended process that benefited those making a living off of delaying projects and those with radical agendas. Reform not only has bipartisan support but also will benefit the Ute Tribe who has suffered from the permitting process for too long. The bill has been introduced already and Senator Lee is optimistic it will pass out of the Senate by late November. Data centers, the price of gas, and the Uinta Basin Railway were also discussed during the interview. Listen to the entire interview above. This interview aired on AM 920 104.5 FM Newstalk KVEL on 10/22/26.
