UDOT reports that construction on the Indian Canyon Corridor will begin on Monday, April 28th. “Multiple improvements will be made throughout the corridor over the next two construction seasons,” shares the announcement. “Crews are beginning work on the north side of the summit near milepost 272 and will be working their way north to Duchesne. Improvements south of the summit are planned for the fall and the 2026 construction season.” Traffic may be restricted to a single lane of alternating one-way traffic controlled by a flagging operation in work zones. Motorists should plan for delays of about 30 minutes in each direction during work hours. Improvements to the corridor will include road widening for shoulders and additional chain-up areas, adding a new southbound passing lane between mileposts 273 and 275, placing new pavement, and improving the intersections at Right Fork Canyon, Skitzy Canyon, Sowers Canyon, and the US-191 and US-40 intersection in Duchesne. Please be alert to road construction activities in the area, observe posted speed limits, and plan extra travel time. Work hours will be Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
