A truly spooky fact for you this Halloween is that kids are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car and killed on Halloween than on any other day of the year.
Safekids.org
has tips that all parents and guardians should heed. Make it easier for drivers to see kids. Require children and teens to carry a flashlight or glow stick or attach retroreflective tags, wristbands, or tape to their costumes. And for drivers, watch out for kids crossing mid-block and keep phones and devices down so you are not distracted. A ghost or witch, excited about candy prospects, could fly out of nowhere into the roadway. Local Highway Patrol Sgt. Kellie Oaks has additional tips for adults, especially those behind the wheel. “Buckle up! Slow down!” shares Sgt. Oaks, “And utilize designated drivers so our children have a fun, safe evening!” Visit
