The 14th annual Holly Days celebration in Vernal attracted record crowds over the weekend. According to event coordinator Glade Allred, it’s estimated that 15,000 people came to participate in the holiday event coming from Craig to Hannah, the Wasatch Front and southern Utah. “Then of course there are many who have made it a destination event and now bring their families from all over to have Thanksgiving in Vernal so they can attend Holly Days,” shares Allred. “I know families who had planned to go out of town for Thanksgiving to visit with relatives and the kids rebelled and said, no, we want to stay here and attend Holly Days.” The venues all around town reported record crowds thanks to the gorgeous weather. The last time Holly Days had a turnout like this, shares Allred, was when Vernal was booming and it was another warm year.
