The two weeks of holiday celebrations during this time of year often means extra hours put in by local law enforcement. Thankfully, local agencies report that the days surrounding the Christmas holiday were mild and without tragedy. A tip this week from Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell is to stay diligent about post-Christmas package deliveries as there are still package thieves lurking about hoping for the opportunity to enjoy late arriving gifts. Also, Campbell reminds residents that moving into the New Year holiday, law agencies will be increasing patrols on the lookout for impaired drivers. His advice is simple: “Travel safely for the remainder of the holidays and celebrate responsibly for New Years.”
