Repairs to Swinging Bridge in Moffat County Expected in the Spring

Who could forget the day in June of 2014 when a blue 10 ton tractor broke halfway through the Browns Park Swinging Bridge and sat suspended over the Green River? After several years of sorting out funding, the bridge is scheduled for repairs this spring and future maintenance was a topic at the Moffat County Commission meeting last week. A five year agreement was reached between Moffat County and Fish and Wildlife Services with the option to extend. Multiple entities are helping to fund the repairs including the state of Colorado and contributions from the BLM, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and the 7 County Infrastructure Coalition, among others. The Utah contributions are being made due to the importance of the bridge to Daggett County and in providing emergency services. The repairs are expected to begin in the spring and finish this summer.
