TriCounty Health Department announced Thursday that while Daggett County remains in the Low COVID-19 Transmission Level, Uintah and Duchesne Counties have been moved from Moderate to the High Transmission Level. “In the high transmission level, masks are required in all indoor public settings and outdoors when physical distancing of 6 feet or greater is not feasible; this includes both employees and patrons,” shares TriCounty Health. “A transmission level (high, moderate, low) is determined if a county has two of the three metrics in the designated level of transmission. These levels are calculated weekly, and announced on Thursday, by the Utah Department of Health. TriCounty Health Department’s Local COVID-19 Situation Update now reflects the transmission rates in each county. Transmission rate is determined by statewide ICU utilization, a 14-day case rate per 100,000 population and a 7-day average percent positivity for COVID-19 testing.” In the last week, Uintah County’s average percent positivity was 18 percent with 107 new confirmed cases in the past 14 days. For Duchesne County, the average percent positivity was 17 percent for the last 7 days and there were 44 new confirmed cases in the past 14 days. In the last week the tri-county area has had 9 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations and zero new COVID-19 related deaths. Visit www.tricountyhealth.com for more information and data.
