The cold may keep some inside but we can still expect little ghosts, princesses, superheroes, and zombies out enjoying the Halloween holiday. The American Safety Council created the following fun acronym ‘SCARE SAFE’ to help trick-or-treaters and their parents be safe while out. Stay in groups. Costumes should fit well and be flame resistant. Always test makeup. Remember to look both ways when crossing streets. Examine all treats before eating. Stay on sidewalks when possible. Avoid dark houses. Use Flashlights and glow sticks for visibility. And last but not least, Enjoy with caution! Vernal Police Department also wants all to have an enjoyable and safe Halloween, stressing the importance of safe driving. “Be on the lookout for pedestrian traffic, the majority of which are young children enjoying their trick or treat experience,” shares Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell. We wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween!
