Infant & Toddler Halloween Event Happening Tomorrow

It’s amazing the good that can happen when community members come together to serve others and spread joy. An example of that is the annual Infant & Toddler Trick-or-Treat event happening tomorrow morning at the Western Park. “There’s plenty of Halloween candy out there, but our littlest trick-or-treaters often can’t enjoy it,” shares event organizer Jessica Richens. “This event focuses on things they can enjoy, such as applesauce, baby-friendly snacks, and small toys. The idea began five years ago…What started with approximately 25–50 people has grown to around 150–200 attendees, and we’re expecting even more families this year.” Prime Time for Kids, RUCD Head Start, and other community organizations are participating to connect families with local resources. They are also collecting food and baby donations to support ‘Finding Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, the food pantry, and others in need. “This event is close to my heart because one mom’s simple idea has grown into something that brings families together,” continues Richens. “We hope people leave with more than treats—with new connections, helpful resources, and a feeling that their little ones belong in the celebration, too.” Bring your littlest ghosts, princesses, and superheroes to the Western Park between 10 and 11:30am tomorrow, October 24th, for the 5th Annual Infant & Toddler Trick-or-Treat.
