TriCounty Health Director Kirk Benge caught up with Amy in the Eagle Country 105.5 FM studio this week to offer an update on local COVID-19 topics. All individuals 18 and older are invited to come to the COVID Shoot Out vaccination drive through at the Vernal TriCounty Health Department location or at USU in Roosevelt. Benge says with the nice weather they are doing it outdoors where you can just drive up. You don’t even have to get out of the vehicle. Benge also confirmed that the health department is getting the Johnson and Johnson vaccine doses but for now they will be taking those on the road for single day vaccination events in Duchesne and Tabiona on Wednesday and Thursday. Benge also addressed the hot topic of masks in schools saying the main issue is that there is no vaccine for kids under 16 so they don’t want to take the masks off at school and risk an outbreak that is then spread to vulnerable populations.
