November is National Diabetes Month and TriCounty Health Department is starting now to spread the message that resources are available locally to help individuals and families living with diabetes. There are a lot of locals with diabetes, explains TriCounty Health representative Ferron Young, and for the newly diagnosed it is a big change in the family so it’s good to reach out to others that have been through the same thing for support. “We are here to support those in the community with diabetes,” says Young. “We have great partners in Vernal and Roosevelt for education on diabetes.” The Certified Diabetes educators in Vernal are Jenny Henderson and Joyce Buhler who are available to contact through Ashley Regional Medical Center. AnneMarie Rousseau is the Certified educator in Roosevelt available to contact through Uintah Basin Healthcare.
