Full Closure Tomorrow For Vernal Intersection At SR-121(500 North) 1500 West

Travel plan adjustments will need to be made if you’re one of the many in Vernal that take SR-121(500 North) to or from the area of Uintah High School during the week as its intersection at 1500 West is scheduled for a full closure tomorrow. Sunrise Engineering has shared that on Thursday, September 10th, crews will switch out the traffic signal at the SR-121(500 North) and 1500 West intersection. Work hours have been shifted to 8:30am to 4:30pm to help drivers avoid peak traffic heading to Uintah High School. UDOT shares that this is part of their project to improve motorist and pedestrian safety. Improvements include some road widening at the intersections and new pedestrian sidewalks/crosswalks at all four corners which will be tied to the new Steinaker Service Canal.
