Effective today, fire restriction orders have been rescinded for Northeastern Utah. The announcement from the Utah Department of Natural Resources states, “Moderated fire danger indices and improved weather conditions have resulted in reduced wildfire hazard across Northeastern Utah. As a result, Stage 1 fire restrictions enacted by Closure Order[s]…are hereby rescinded within the areas described below beginning September 4th… Area Description: All unincorporated private and all state lands within Wasatch, Summit, Uintah, Daggett, and Duchesne Counties.” The order specifically says that this does not affect private lands within incorporated towns or city limits. It also notes that Stage 1 fire restrictions will remain within the North Summit Fire District and Park City Fire District. The letter is signed by the State Fire Management Officer and the Acting State Forester.
