Construction Paused Over Indian Canyon For Holiday Weekend; Project Resume 9/8

Travelers will get a break from construction over Indian Canyon this weekend. UDOT announced that construction along US-191 will be paused for Labor Day Weekend. “No work will take place Saturday, September 5th through Monday, September 7th,” shares the announcement. “Please follow the posted speed limit, watch for construction equipment along road shoulders, and drive safely.” Work is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 8th, and once it does, crews plan to work in multiple locations throughout the canyon. Plans include excavation for shoulder widening between milepost 267 and 269, paving an overlay at milepost 266, and guardrail installation starting September 14th between milepost 261 and 267. “Drivers should expect longer wait times as crews may have up to three separate traffic control areas. Longest wait times through the canyon are expected to be around 30 minutes. Crews are monitoring traffic cues and staggering work to help prevent longer delays when possible.”
