Utah Highway Patrol has released details on a fatal crash this week near Strawberry
Reservoir. According to Thursday’s release, at 4:34pm on September 26th, an empty
semi-tractor trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 40 near milepost 40 when a
Honda CR-V turned onto Highway 40 to go westbound.
Tragically, the Honda failed to yield to the semi and the Honda’s driver, 82-year-old Hao M. Kuo from Cottonwood Heights, suffered fatal injuries. The 82-year-old male passenger in the Honda was flown from the scene in serious condition and the driver of the semi was uninjured.
Crews worked to investigate and clear the scene, closing both lanes of traffic for about 3 hours.
