Energy country is celebrating the EPA’s latest announcement that proposes to repeal the Obama administration’s “Clean Power Plan”. EPA administrator Scott Pruitt issued the notice which determined that the plan’s regulations exceed the EPA’s statutory authority. The repeal is expected to facilitate development of energy resources and reduce regulatory burdens associated with developing energy resources. Over regulation is a common hot topic in eastern Utah and western Colorado where energy development is a undeniable cornerstone of the economy. Pruitt says the announcement to repeal the Clean Power Plan is about “righting the wrongs” of over-regulation. The move is part of President Trump’s Executive Order on Energy Independence.
