With hardly enough time for the ink to dry, a lawsuit has been filed over the Green River Water Rights Exchange contract between the Bureau of Reclamation and the state of Utah. A team of environmental groups oppose the contract which will allow for an exchange of Green River water rights for water to be released from Flaming Gorge Dam. A press release from the National Parks Traveler lists the groups filing the lawsuit as the Center for Biological Diversity, Living Rivers, Colorado Riverkeeper, and the Utah Rivers Council. The lawsuit alleges that the Interior did not comply with the National Environmental Policy Act, among other claimed failings.
