DWR Cutthroat Slam

Local participation in collecting Slams from the Division of Wildlife Resources has been good and a new Slam medallion is expected to be just as popular. Slams are collectible coins and items that hunters can earn for success on their hunts. The latest Slam to be offered is a medallion for anglers who register for the program and then catch all four species of Utah’s cutthroat trout. Sport Fisheries coordinator Paul Birdsey says excitement is growing for the program. “The Cutthroat Slam provides an added incentive to visit some pristine waters in Utah,” says Birdsey, “- waters you may have never fished before – to catch the only trout native to the state.” Get registered for the Cutthroat Slam program at
