Duchesne County Requests Minimum Travel During Poor Weather Conditions

Road crews across the Basin have worked around the clock the last few weeks and Duchesne County has now issued a request for minimum travel during the storm events. “The Duchesne County Public Works Department crews are putting forth their best effort to keep county roads open and safe for travel. However, weather and road conditions can worsen in a matter of minutes and the manpower and equipment resources of the County are limited,” shares the County. “Curtail travel unless absolutely necessary when road and weather conditions deteriorate.”  Residents are also urged to prepare their homes with adequate supplies in the event of being “snowed in.” Also, keep cars stocked with emergency supplies including a shovel and tire chains for your vehicle in the event of getting stuck. Always check weather forecasts and road conditions before deciding whether or not to take a trip. For information from the Duchesne County Emergency Management Office, call 602-7001.
